Sleek, refined and ultra-stylish the new Ping G400 driver is yet another step towards the perfect balance of speed, forgiveness and ultimate distance. Ping have produced a driver with an incredibly deep centre of gravity and a combined moment of impact of over 9,000. These characteristics are produced, in part, by the higher density tungsten back weight that not only improves forgiveness but allows for rapid adjustment of launch conditions by +/- 1°.
Ping G400 SFT Driver
The G400 SFT is the straight flight variation that has the adjustable tungsten weight placed more toward the heelside of the clubhead and a lighter swing weight. These modifications square the face of the club and helps to generate right to left bias for right handed golfers (and vice versa for left handed).The T9s+ face allows for 16% more flex across the whole area by being both thinner and lighter than previous iterations. Each of these incremental internal improvements elevates the G400 driver above the competition.
Ping G400 Fairway Woods
The Ping G400 fairway woods take inspiration from aerospace technology in the form of the maraging steel clubface. This material is one of the strongest alloys in existence which allows for an incredibly thin profile without losing strength or flexibility. In fact, the ne G400 clubface is 30% more flexible which makes it incredibly hot with very high launch capabilities. Weight is further reduced by the 17-4 SS crown that is cast to optimise the centre of gravity and includes a set of turbulators.
Ping G400 Hybrid Clubs
For golfers looking to gap their set for middle to long distance shots the new Ping G400 hybrid clubs offer the ideal solution. These hybrids feature the same technology as the other woods in the G400 range and produce similar characteristics. The aerospace inspired maraging steel faces are super thin and reactive giving hotter ball speeds and, when combined with the optimised centre of gravity, produce greater distance and forgiveness.
Ping G400 Crossover Club
The new G400 crossover club is the next generation that combines the best aspects of an iron with the most favourable characteristics of a hybrid to produce an incredibly useful club. The perfect balance between ball speed, launch height and stopping power has been achieved by using a thinner hybrid style sole. This new style sole features a 20g tungsten toe weight that increases forgiveness and stabilises the faster ball. To promote a straighter shot that still has plenty of spin the centre of gravity has moved forward on the flatter face that now behaves in a more iron-like way.
Ping G400 Irons
At the centre of the new G400 Irons is COR-Eye technology. This innovative system generates faster ball speeds while still increasing launch height and improving stopping power. The move towards multi-material construction throughout the G400 range of clubs has produced a true step forward which it is expected others will follow. The club face of each iron is afforded extra flex by the COR-Eye technology which is balanced and controlled by the three piece cavity badge. The sound and feel of the G400 is rich and powerful and matched only by the sleek look that comes from the hydropearl finish that reduces friction by 40% improving contact from the rough.
