TaylorMade Sim 2 Max D-Type Driver
Following on from years of TaylorMade’s successes with D type drivers, we have the SIM2 Max D driver. Ultimately the D element of these drivers indicates technology within the driver is designed to help a player reduce or remove their left to right ball flight (in right-handed golfers) and this driver not only offers this but also addresses a long-standing problem with slice busting drivers – the speed on off centre hits.
The SIM2 Max D is packed with all the same technology as the SIM2 and the SIM2 Max, including the speed injecting technology, light carbon head and the forged ring construction. This helps maximise clubhead and ball speeds whilst also offering consistent results. The difference with the D model is that the weight/inertia generator is positioned nearer the heel, which moves the centre of gravity back and to the rear of the club, encouraging the toe of the club to come through quicker, thus reducing/eradicating that nasty slice whilst still promoting forgiveness and greater distance.
Who is the Sim 2 Max D-Type Driver For?
It’s fair to say that this driver is built with the higher handicapper in mind and the stock Air Speeder shaft is very light to aid an increase in club head speed. That said, this doesn’t mean that you need these swing speed characteristics to benefit from this club. There are a number of reasons a player could move the ball left to right (in a right-handed player) so there are a number of custom options available at your disposal. As always, our team of PGA professionals is on hand to help you with any equipment questions you may have.
